FAUQUIER COUNTY OFFICIALS TO MEET WITH CHINESE BUSINESS DELEGATION

WARRENTON, VA—On Sunday, Fauquier County officials will meet with dignitaries and top business leaders from the city of Liyang, China to discuss potential business development opportunities. The meeting will be hosted by Jimmy Yang, president of the Jiangsu International Chamber of Commerce and owner of Universal Stones, which recently relocated from Stafford to Fauquier County. Attendees will include Mayor Su Jianghua and Vice Mayor Liu Min of the Liyang Municipal People’s Government, as well as a delegation of top business officials in the technology, steel, energy and manufacturing industries. The County will be represented by the Chair and Vice Chair of the Board of Supervisors, R. Holder Trumbo, Jr. and Chester Stribling, as well as Supervisor Chris Granger, Deputy County Administrator Katie Heritage, Business Development Coordinator Beverly Pullen, Tourism Coordinator Catherine Payne and Chair of the Southern Fauquier Business Owner’ Association, Lynne Richman Cox.

“I see this as a wonderful opportunity to partner with the international community to attract the type of businesses we are seeking for Fauquier County,” said Trumbo. “We are certainly grateful to Jimmy Yang and to Virginia Assistant Secretary for Trade and Commerce, Peter Su, for arranging this for us.”

"Mayor Su's visit to Fauquier County and meeting with the Board of Supervisors will open the door for a trade, culture and technology exchange between Liyang and the County. It will lay the foundation for the two localities to become future friendship cities. The effort to bring the two localities together started six months ago. The International Chamber of Commerce partnered with the Virginia Governor's office, working directly with Mr. Su. This partnership is an excellent resource for Fauquier County to welcome international business. It is also a direct outcome of the Governor's visit to Jiangsu, China,” said Yang.

Fauquier Barrel Oak Winery Hosting Jiangsu Officials January 14, 2012

Fewer people from Oversea visiting Washington will have the luck to pay a visit to Fauquier Winery. On January 14, 2012, Satureday, JSICC together with Fauquier Economic Development and Tourism coordination, organized a tour in Barrel Oak and Three Fox Winery. 12 Officials from Jiangsu Province, who have continued education in the University of Maryland, joined by other organization leaders including Mr. Yunming Song, President of Network Society, China Science and Technology Association, Mr. Richard Tao, President of Wuxi Association. Mr. Brian Roeder, the owner of the Barrel Oak, introduced the history of this Winery, educated the group the process of wine making and hosted the group with 7 different self-produced wines. The group continued its second stop in Thee Fox Winery after the lunch. JSICC & Wuxi Association Annual Meeting December 30, 2011

The Council Members of JSICC and Wuxi Association had a joint Annual Meeting in Asian Delight on December 30, 2011. Mr. Richard Tao, President of Wuxi Association has reported to the Board what has achieved during the year 2011 and the future events the Association would like to participate; Jimmy Yang, the Chamber's President, has reported to the Boards with a powerpoint presentation the major events JSICC has been organized, participated and hosted in the year 2011 and JSICC would have a special Board meeting for the Future President and Chairman election on March this year. Mr. Gene Bailey, Vice President of Chamber and Mr. Leon Xie, Vice President of Chamber,both speak higly of the achievements the current administration and expect the Board working more closely to have a successful 2012.
